It might have flown under the radar today, but the Denver Nuggets added a two time all-star at the trade deadline.
Roy Hibbert (5.2 points per game, 3.6 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 16.0 minutes)
A Second Round Pick
Hibbert never played with the Bucks after being acquired from Charlotte in the Miles Plumlee trade. It’s easy to forget, but Hibbert is a two time all-star, but his role in the league has dwindled, especially now that the Pace and Space era has really taken off. However, this does seem like it could be a good spot for him. All the Nuggets need him to do is provide some serviceable backup minutes behind Nikola Jokic as they try to hang onto the final Playoff spot in the West. Earlier in the day, the Nuggets apparently made a run at Paul George, but they’ll have to settle for one of his former teammates instead. He’s not the All Star force that he once was, but Hibbert should be able to spell Jokic from time to time and bring a little Playoff experience to Denver.
